BHRT FEMALE BALANCE
Menopause isn’t just about hot flashes—it’s a full-body shift that affects your brain, bones, sleep, mood, metabolism, and sexual health. The decline of estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone can leave you feeling unlike yourself.
That’s where BHRT comes in.
Bioidentical hormones are designed to match the hormones your body naturally produces. Our approach is individualized—never one-size-fits-all—and always rooted in science.
With BHRT, we can help:
- Support heart, bone, and brain health by restoring protective estrogen
- Improve sleep, calm anxiety, and stabilize mood with balanced progesterone
- Rebuild confidence, protect muscle and bone, and boost libido with testosterone
- Reduce hot flashes, night sweats, brain fog, and fatigue so you feel more like you again
At Balanced Body Solutions, we don’t dismiss symptoms or settle for “normal labs.” We look deeper, listen closely, and create a plan tailored to your body and your goals.
BHRT isn’t about vanity—it’s about quality of life.
If you’re tired of being dismissed, ready to move beyond vague advice and start feeling like yourself again, we’re here to help.

BHRT Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect at my first appointment?
You can expect to feel heard, understood, and supported. Appointments typically last 30 to 55 minutes, giving us time to listen fully without rushing. Your visit will be with Michele, NP, who will take a comprehensive look at your health history, current symptoms, and goals. Care usually begins within 1–2 appointments as we gather all the information needed to build your personalized plan.
What are common symptoms of perimenopause and menopause?
Hormonal changes during this time can affect every part of your life. You may experience:
- Hot flashes or night sweats
- Mood swings, irritability, anxiety, or sadness
- Trouble sleeping or staying asleep
- Low libido or vaginal dryness
- Weight gain (especially around the belly)
- Brain fog or forgetfulness
- Fatigue and low energy
- Joint pain or stiffness
- Hair thinning or increased shedding
- Muscle loss or decreased strength
These symptoms are some of the most common, but there are even more.
When should I start hormone therapy?
Bioidentical Hormone Therapy (BHRT) can be started as soon as symptoms become bothersome—even in your 30s, especially if menopause is early or medically induced.
- The average age of menopause is 51.
- Many women experience symptoms 10 years prior.
- The greatest protective benefits occur when MHT is started within 10 years of menopause, but many healthy women still benefit when starting later.
How long can I stay on hormone therapy?
There is no strict limit. You can continue hormone therapy as long as it benefits your health and quality of life, and you remain a good candidate.
What are the benefits of hormone therapy?
Hormone therapy helps with:
- Relief of Hot flashes and night sweats
- Sleep improvement
- Mood regulation
- Increased Libido and vaginal health
- Increased Energy and cognition
- Decreased muscle and joint pain
- Long-term protection for bones, heart, and brain
What are the risks of hormone therapy?
Initial concerns from the 2002 Women’s Health Initiative (WHI) led to fear and misinformation about hormone therapy. However, 20-year follow-up data published in 2024 showed:
No increase in death from breast cancer or heart disease in women using hormone therapy.
Hormone therapy is now considered safe and effective for most women when appropriately prescribed.
No one should be dismissing you, if your provider refuses to treat or isn’t comfortable treating, find a provider who will hear you. At Balanced Body Solutions all women deserve to be heard.
Why won’t my PCP or OB-GYN prescribe hormone therapy?
After the 2002 WHI study, many schools stopped teaching hormone therapy, and providers fell behind on current research. As a result, many providers still avoid prescribing it, even though the science has evolved, outdated information is still practiced.
At Balanced Body Solutions, we are up to date with current research and education so you can receive the care and options you deserve.
What if I have a family history of breast cancer, blood clots, or stroke?
A family history alone is not a contraindication for hormone therapy. We assess your individual risk factors and choose the safest type and route of treatment for your specific needs.
